American Leadership Academy is a 72,577 square-foot charter school, located at 777 E. Ann Road and came to fruition quickly. It broke ground in March 2017 and was constructed on an accelerated schedule to meet a fall opening date. Situated on about 8 acres, this ground-up Kindergarten-8th grade school was constructed in just 20 weeks rather than its customary 52-week duration. DC Building Group superintendents Bill P. and Dexter M. coordinated with many subcontractors, vendors and faculty members to accomplish this incredible feat. The facility consists of 42 classrooms and the enrollment capacity is 1,250 students. Carhuff & Cueva Architects served as the architect of record for the new campus. The school’s inviting facade of brick and high concrete columns purposefully reflects a warm, colonial-style home. The modern gymnasium is fully equipped with retractable dividers, benches and basketball hoops, and two regulation size volleyball courts and two full basketball courts, a performance stage and an adjacent kitchen for cafeteria service. The main, outdoor playground is the size of football field, with natural grass, and four basketball half-courts. There are designated playground areas for younger children too. All the grounds are fenced. DCBG appreciates ALA-Nevada’s school colors of red, white & blue; Read more about ALA in North Las Vegas here.
